Natural High

"We document where the wood comes from and how many kilometres it has traveled", says Martin Keller. Before the wood is processed, these points, which are important for sustainability, are recorded.

Martin Keller swears by a very special trick for predrying the wood: "We have natural drying here. This means that we place the wood as close as possible to the train tracks. The train comes every half hour and every time this occurs, it causes the air to circulate, meaning we can pre-dry the wood for free."

Konrad Keller Sägerei AG is situated next to train tracks.
The cut wood is dried in the drying room at 60-70 degrees Celsius.
